About Us
Your journey begins at Harbourside Lodge, Bamfield, on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
We are a family operated small and unique fishing lodge on the west side of Bamfield. You can take a water taxi to access the west side if you do not have a boat. It’s a four minute ride and costs $10.

Harbourside’s remote location is what makes it so desirable to many of our repeat guests each season. Our lodge has been in existence for many years, and has recently expanded the available accommodations to suit many needs and budgets.
This is all due to popular demand. Harbourside is ever evolving, a work in progress and a guaranteed memorable experience.
We do not provide meals. However, there are several options. Our guests mostly cook for themselves. We have several well equipped kitchen options available for your use, including refrigerators.
Bamfield is remote so there are few cafes and restaurants.
There is also a general store with basic food supplies , on the end of the boardwalk on the west side.
We offer fishing charters, moorage and our store carries ice, bait, tackle and basic incidentals. Freezers are available and fish packaging is obtainable. Mills Landing, just next door, also offers fish processing and packing services.
We welcome anyone who loves to fish, beach walk, hike, kayak, whale watch and just enjoy all that this quaint, unique and interesting fishing village has to offer.
